As people start wading into the new and improved Glowing Puddle, it seems that there is some confusion about the wiki portion of the site.  Thus, I thought I should clear up some of the confusion.

What is a Wiki?

A wiki is a piece of software that allows users to create, edit, and maintain a body of information.  Basically, it's a big database that anyone -- and I do mean anyone -- can add to.

What is the purpose of the Glowing Puddle Wiki?

There is a huge Stargate fandom out in cyberspace.  People write fanfiction, create fan art, make music videos, and express their love of the show in a million different ways.  The Glowing Puddle wiki is meant to be a giant online yellow pages of anyone who is a stargate fan.  Ideally, anyone with an online Stargate fan presence would create an entry in the wiki telling about their work and favorite online hangouts.

Should I do anything at the Glowing Puddle Wiki page?

Yes!  Drop in, read the main page, and create a page in the wiki all about YOU!  Tell us about where you post your fanfictions, art, vidoes, livejournal entries, blog, etc.  Tell us where your favorite Stargate websites are.  Editing a page is easy.  Remember, the wiki is owned by EVERYONE.  It's not an encyclopedia, published by one person and edited only by staff.  It's a group project.  The wiki will only be complete and interesting if YOU edit pages in it.
